Oh hello there! Thank you for coming by and checking out my blog. In today’s post I’m going to talk about my five hacks to boost your motivation during the holidays. For most people November often leaves people disheartened. So with these few HOLIDAY HACKS I hope that those of you reading this find your groove again in December.
- THINK OF SOMETHING YOU ARE PROUD OF: so what I mean by that is take the time to acknowledge your achievements. With the new year drawing in closer and closer we are often focusing on what our new years resolutions will be and get discouraged in the process. Instead we should acknowledge the goals we accomplished for the year big and small to help us find motivation.
- GIVE COMPLIMENTS OR TIME: what I mean by that is be generous! I don’t mean be generous by giving money or gifts. I mean be generous with your time with others. Be generous by giving compliments to others, you’ll find that when you give compliments to others that its like magic and it makes you feel better and motivated knowing you made someones day better. If that kind of makes you feel weird to do, go and make some thoughtful post cards and send them to those you care about.
- DO SOMETHING PHYSICAL: With this I mean for you to break normal holiday traditions. Often this time of the year most people find themselves eating themselves into food coma and sit around and wait to eat again. Challenge yourself to do something physical that you have never done before! It could be something as simple as going outside when its cold and going for long walk. Or something extreme like jumping into n ice cold body of water! haha but more or less you get the picture.
- SHUT OUT NEGATIVITY: The way the world is now for some reason is surrounded by negativity. Everywhere we look there is something terrible happening. I encourage those around me and those who read this to invite or invoke positive thoughts instead of welcoming negative thoughts. If you feel like you are starting to have negative thoughts. I encourage you to stop what you are doing and write down 3-5 things that you are grateful for. Heck even if you were to start your day that way. It would definitely help with shutting out negativity.
- FIND QUIET MOMENTS FOR YOURSELF: with this right here I cannot express to you how powerful this can be.. when you feel like you are getting overwhelmed. Take some time and find some peace. Find that thing or things that helps bring you back to earth when you are feeling like things are out of control. Two of the biggest things for me that help me here is prayer. GOD helps me find my quiet place and helps me find peace when I feel like all hope is lost. Then there is the gym. I cannot stress to you how important the gym is to keeping you level headed and helping you find some peace in a stressful day.
